In the network of the State Defense Order Russian radio-technical troops started taking deliveries of radar stations that have no analogues; the stations have a long acquisition range and the systems are designed to detect ballistic missiles. It was stated by the Commander of radio-technical troops of Russian air forces, Major General Andrei Koban, at the opening of Vozdushniye Rubezhi competition, TASS reports.
“Today deliveries of radar stations and automation facilities are in progress. In particular Fundament automation facilities, different versions of Nebo radar station, Podlet radar station (all-altitude detector),” he said adding that these systems have no analogues, offer a long acquisition range and are capable of detecting ballistic and other types of targets.
The general explained that specialists of radio-technical troops are undergoing retraining in a training center located in Vladimir in order to prepare for operation of these new systems; the personnel is also being trained by the enterprises, which are manufacturing products for the radio-technical troops, located in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. “It allows the personnel to prepare for operation of the new equipment before the deliveries are started,” he noted.
