VIM Airlines (also known as VIM Avia) and Ilyushin Finance & Co. leasing company (IFC) signed a letter of intent related to leasing of 5 Bombardier CSeries 300 aircraft. The agreement was signed at MAKS-2013 airshow.
The jets seating 138 passengers will be delivered to the customer in 2015-2016. The list price of CS300 is about $70 million.
We remind you that IFC and Bombardier Aerospace signed a purchase agreement for 32 CS300 jets with an option for another 10 aircraft of the type in February 2013.
In addition, VIM Airlines and IFC signed a firm contract for delivery of 5 Tu-204SM jets with an option for 5 more aircraft. Thus VIM Airlines became the launch customer of Tu-204SM.
The total value of contracts signed by United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) at MAKS-2013 airshow reached $12 billion, President of UAC, Mikhail Pogosyan, told journalists.
We remind you that enterprises of United Aircraft Corporation have booked $7.5 billion during MAKS-2011.
Mikhail Pogosyan noted that $9 billion is the total amount of contracts for delivery of 173 aircraft, while the rest $3 billion accrue to contracts in the area of MRO.
Rosoboronexport has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Cameroon for delivery of Mi-17 helicopters. The agreement was signed in the network of MAKS-2013 airshow, the press-service of Rostech reports.
The document was signed by CEO of Rosoboronexport, Anatoly Isaykin, and the Minister of Defense of Cameroon, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o.
“It is the first contract in the area of military-technical cooperation signed by Russia and Cameroon. It is a new country for us and we hope for further development of our partnership,” Anatoly Isaykin said.
“The development of military-technical cooperation with African countries is one of the priorities of Rosoboronexport’s marketing policy. In particular, we renewed relations with Botswana, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea in 2013,” Rostech noted. The export of Russian-produced helicopters has been increasing since 2000.
The testing of the first Tu-214ON aircraft developed in the network of Open Skies program has been completed. The jet is beinghanded over to the customer. It was stated by the Doctor of Engineering Science, CEO of Vega Concern, Vladimir S. Verba.
Vega is the head contractor in the network of the corresponding contract with Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD). The jet’s payload was developed by Vega Concern. Speaking of the program’s status, Vladimir Verba said: «There are two jets. The first one (the jet is demonstrated at MAKS-2013 airshow) has successfully completed the state testing. At present it is being handed over to the MoD. The handover procedure takes time, but now it is only a formality because the testing has already been completed. The assembly of the second jet is underway. The second aircraft’s testing should be completed in 2013. A lot of nuances have surfaced during the testing of the first Tu-214ON, including the ones connected with the customer’s requests. At present we are considering the possibility of adding some extra options for Tu-214ON in cooperation with the MoD and specialists from the air forces».
The State Corporation Rostec and the Group of Companies Denel (South Africa) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which provides for the development of cooperation in the military and technical sphere, including through the organization of joint research, exchange of experience, information and technology. The document was signed by Dmitry Shugayev, Deputy General Director of Rostec, and Ghandi Badela, member of the Board of Directors of Denel Group.
This agreement was signed in the presence of the Secretary of Defence of South Africa – Dr. Sam Makhudu Gulube.
The 3-year contract for maintenance of aircraft operated by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) was the largest one signed during day one of MAKS-2013 airshow (the contract’s value is 85 billion rubles). The document was signed in the presence of the Chairman of the Government, Dmitry Medvedev, by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Y.I. Borisov and President of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Mikhail Pogosyan.
Implementation of this contract will help increase the combat readiness and improve the condition of combat and military-transport aircraft operated by the MoD. The contract assumes that UAC must consolidate functions in the area of technical support of aircraft throughout its life cycle – from delivery to utilization. The integration of postsale services under the aegis of UAC will help regulate the system for renewal of exchange fleet and delivery of kits. It will also allow improving the management of designer’s and technical supervision. The order backlog for SSJ100 and MS-21 aircraft increased by 73 jets during the day one of the airshow. The total value of these contracts is assessed at $5 billion at list prices.
In the first half of 2013 Corporation showed a positive dynamics on many key indicators. Compared to 6 months of 2012 consolidated revenues in compliance with IFRS increased by 29% to 81,262 mln RUB (6m 2012: 62,973 mln RUB). EBIT increased by 146% and resulted to 5,021 mln RUB (6m 2012: -11,001 mln RUB) . Net loss decreased by almost 2 times to -8,978 mln RUB (6m 2012: – 16,092 mln RUB) .
The increase in consolidated revenue by 29 % compared to 6m 2012 is based mainly on growth in revenue earned on aircraft construction contracts (85%), revenue earned on R&D services (87%), revenue earned on modernization and overhaul services (112%). In the year 2012, the Corporation signed a number of contracts for the supply of Su-34, MiG-29K/KUB, Su-30SM, SSJ-100, which significantly influenced on the positive revenue growth for the 1st half of 2013.
The increase in revenue with almost constant operating costs, in turn, influenced the reduction in the net loss by 44% compared to 6 months of 2012.
Jeppesen (part of Boeing Digital Aviation), has signed a 5-year agreement with the State Scientific Center of Russian Federation GosNIIAS, the company reports.
According to the agreement, GosNIIAS will test and evaluate integration of the prototype of an integrated navigation information solution developed by Jeppesen with MS-21 aircraft’s integrated modular avionics (IMA), said in the statement.
“The navigation solution comprises data, airfield maps and charts, en-route charts, electronic aerodrome chart and FliteDeck Pro electronic flight bag (EFB) services with centralized data management capabilities, – the company noted. – The Jeppesen’s prototype will be integrated with the displays located on the front panel and EFB”.
Ilyushin Finance & Co. leasing company (IFC) and Bombardier Aerospace signed a letter of intent for delivery of 50 Bombardier Q400 NextGen regional turboprops on August 28th 2013. The agreement was signed in the network of MAKS-2013 airshow.
According to the document, IFC plans to purchase the aircraft manufactured by a joint venture established by Russian Technologies State Corporation (Rostech) and Bombardier Aerospace. The JV will launch the production of Q400 aircraft in Russia. The agreement on establishment of the JV was signed earlier.
The value of a potential contract for delivery of 50 Q400s is assessed at $1,695 billion at list prices.
In addition, Rostech noted that the agreement in the area of market development was signed by Rostech and its subsidiary Aviacapital-Service. The document will provide an opportunity for delivery of additional 50 Q400 NextGen turboprops in the region.
Ilyushin Finance & Co. (IFC), Vnesheconombank and Roseksimbank signed an agreement on financing of the deliveries of An-148/158 aircraft to Cuba in 2014-2015. The agreement was signed in the network of MAKS-2013 airshow held in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region.
The agreement assumes financing of the purchase of up to 4 An-148 and An-158 jets by IFC. After that IFC will lease the aircraft to Aviaimport S.A. (Cuba).
This agreement is being implemented in the network of governmental decree number 803 “About the rules for provision of state guarantees in a foreign currency for supporting the export of industrial products (goods and services)” signed on November 1st 2008. The decree was revised and corrected on December 15th 2008, November 15th 2010 and February 18th 2013. According to the decree, the state guarantees are provided, because the vehicles have been manufactured in cooperation with foreign enterprises (the share of Russian-produced components must be 60% or more).
