Russia Makes Nuke Trains For Rapid Transit of A-Bombs


Russia says that it is building the train equivalent of a nuclear submarine.

The “nuke trains“, or BZhRK, which stands for ‘combat railway missile complex’ in Russian, will be a massive platform train capable of transporting nuclear weapons at rapid speeds across the massive country to their launch destination.

This is not the first time a country has created such nuclear transport devices – nuclear trains were created by the former Soviet Union but decommissioned after it’s dissolution.


Sergei Shoigu visits Kazan’s Tupolev Aircraft Plant


Within a working trip to Russia’s central military district’s troops, Russia Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived in Kazan, where he visited the Kazan’s Tupolev Aircraft Plant, a Tupolev Production Association branch.

Sergei Shoigu was accompanied by acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Russia defence minister inspected the aircraft plant’s workshops and lines used to renovate and upgrade the long-haul aircraft Tu-22MZ and Tu-160.

Plant’s director Nikolai Savitskikh and United Aircraft Company president Yuri Slyusar made comments over the course of the inspection. Sergei Shoigu held a working meeting to discuss the UAC’s companies renovating and maintaining their long-haul aircraft fleet, as well as prospects for domestic aircraft manufacturing.

“Bulava” to launch at the Okhotsk Sea for the first time in September


The next launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile “Bulava” which is scheduled for the end of September, will be made for the first time fromthe Sea of Okhotsk on the ground “Chizh” in the Arkhangelsk region, the Interfax-Military News Agency informed, citing a source in the General Staff of the Navy

“Ballistic missile submarine K-550 “Alexander Nevsky” will perform his third launch of ” Bulava” in the last days of September,” the source said.

Russian defense minister orders to consider restarting Tu-160 missile carrier production


Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu gave instructions on Wednesday to study the issue of resuming the production of Tupolev Tu-160 (NATO reporting name: Blackjack) supersonic strategic bombers at the Kazan aviation plant in the Volga Republic of Tatarstan.

“It is necessary already today to start implementing tasks not only for keeping in good order and modernizing the fleet of long-range aviation but also for reproducing Tu-160 missile carriers,” Shoigu told Tass. He added that the Tu-160 is “a unique plane that has been several decades abreast of time and has not used its constructive possibilities to the full extent until now.”

Vladimir Putin lifted the ban on delivery of S-300 air defense systems to Iran

President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree lifting the ban on delivery of S-300 air defense systems to Iran, the Kremlin’s press-service reports.

«The decree lifts the ban on transit of S-300 air defense systems throughout the territory of Russia (including air transportation), export of S-300 to Islamic Republic of Iran and delivery of the systems to Islamic Republic of Iran from outside the territory of Russia using ships and aircraft registered in Russian Federation,» said in the explanatory notes to the document.

China is the launch customer for S-400 air defense systems


In September 2014 Chinese authorities signed a contract with Russia for delivery of four divisions of S-400 “Triumph” air defense systems, Kommersant reports with reference to Rosoboronexport CEO Anatoly Isaykin.

“I cannot give you details of the deal, but yes, China is really the launch customer for this latest Russian air defense system,” Isaykin said.

He believes that signing of this contract underlines the level of strategic cooperation between Russia and China.

Moreover, Rosoboronexport CEO noted that many countries are willing to purchase S-400 systems. However, he added that Russian Almaz-Antey Concern must deliver these systems to Russian Ministry of Defense first. According to Isaykin, even after increasing the production capacities, it is rather hard to deliver these systems to several countries simultaneously.

“In this context, China is the first one,” he said.

Krilya Tavridi aerobatic team will take part in Army-2015 International Military-Technical Forum


All the aerobatic teams of Russian air forces, including the latest one – Krilya Tavridi (Wings of Taurida), are going to take part in Army-2015 International Military-Technical Forum, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Commander-in-Chief of the Russian air forces Viktor Bondarev.

The forum will be held in Moscow Region during the period from June 16th to 19th; it will be the largest show with the participation of Russian armed forces this year.

It was reported that Russian Knights (operating Su-27 fighters), Strizhi (MiG-29) and Berkuti (Mi-28N helicopters) aerobatic teams are going to participate in the forum. Earlier Bondarev said that Wings of Taurida would take part in the demonstration flights provided that the team has enough time to prepare.

“At Army-2015 forum the air forces will be represented by all the operated aircraft as well as air defense systems and equipment used by radio-technical troops. All the aerobatic teams will participate in the show; we are going to demonstrate their skills,” Bondarev said at an event held on the eve of the Day of Air Defense Forces to honor veterans of air defense forces. According to him, new aerobatic team Wings of Taurida (operating Yak-130 operational trainers) will surely take part in the forum.

The decree No. 343 signed on April 10th 2015 was elaborated by Russian Ministry of Transport. «Taking into account the government’s powers in the area of navigation activities stipulated in the item 4 of part 2 of section 7 of the federal law No. 22-FZ signed on February 14th 2009 “About navigation activities”, government decree No.549 signed on July 11th 2009 accepts the proposal of Roscosmos approved by all the involved federal agencies about establishing a federal network operator in the area of navigation activities,» said in the explanatory notes to the decree.
