President of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slusar said that the company is going to occupy 30% of the global regional aircraft market, Gazeta.ru reports.
According to him, the signed agreement for promotion of up to 100 Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ 100) aircraft in China and Southeast Asia is of great importance for the company. «It is a great milestone for us. We have talked a lot about Chinese market, dreamed of entering it, because it is the largest and most fast-growing one; its capacity for the next 15 years is around 1300 aircraft,» he said.
Slusar also noted that establishment of the new lessor is a serious step in this direction. According to him, this “instrument” “may help secure orders for about 100 aircraft in China and other countries over the next three years».
«We consider it to be a starting point for expansion to all the markets of Southeast Asia,» he noted. The top-manager also noted that the capacity of the global regional aircraft market is 100 – 150 aircraft per year.
It was reported earlier that Russian-Chinese Investment Fund (RCIF), United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and government of Shaanxi province (China) signed an agreement for promotion of up to 100 SSJ 100 aircraft in China and South-East Asia.
