A single platform for testing of domestic drones will be based on the Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing, the first test is scheduled to begin before the end of the year. This was announced on Monday by the director general of the Institute Nikolai Smirnov.
“Right now the flight test base (of the Institute) is undergoing a large-scale reconstruction, which will end at the end of 2015. The aerodrome is already visited by representatives of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, they approved the creation of Russia’s only center for the testing of domestic unmanned aerial vehicles. We have a good take-off and landing strip and its airspace,” said Smirnov.
