Russian Navy wants to extend a series of hovercraft Project 12322 “Zubr” and 12061 “Murena”, to replace the Ukrainian engines for them will not be difficult, CEO of the Central Maritime Design Bureau (CMDB) “Almaz” Alexander Shlyakhtenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Previously, vehicles were equipped with Ukrainian gas turbine engines, however, according to the general director of “Almaz”, they have production capacity for building new ships and work on them could begin as soon as the Fleet orders it.
“The Navy wants to continue the line,”Zubr” and “Murena”, problems of powerplant change for these wonderful ships are solved”, Shlyakhtenko said.
