UAC: Corporation is among the world’s top-3 defense companies in terms of increase of sales

United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) was ranked 3rd in the list of the world’s top defense companies in terms of increase of sales. It is stated in the report published by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SPIRI), which summarized the statistics for 2013, press-service of UAC reports.

According to the rating, UAC managed to increase the sales of its products by 20% to $5,5 billion.

“Rating of 100 world’s largest defense companies has been issued by SIPRI since 1990; it is based on statistics, which includes domestic and export deliveries of defense products as well as provision of services to defense customers,” UAC added.

Novosibirsk aviation plant named after Chkalov (part of Sukhoi Holding Company) fulfilled the state defense order for 2014 ahead of schedule, TASS reports with reference to the governor of Novosibirsk Region, Vladimir Gorodetski.

“Last week Novosibirsk aviation plant named after Chkalov fulfilled the state defense order for production of Su-34 bombers ahead of schedule. 16 jets have already been delivered to the military units; two more bombers of the type will be delivered to the customer in two weeks. This is our contribution to the country’s defense capabilities,” Gorodetski said.

CEO of the enterprise, Sergey Smirnov, said earlier that the plant would deliver 18 jets of the type to Russian air forces in 2014 – two more ones than planned in the network of the state defense order.

SCAC is going to offer competitive prices for Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) is going to offer competitive prices for Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft thanks to state guarantees. The government developed a new instrument for supporting the project, SCAC Senior Vice-president, Evgeni Andrachnikov, said, Russkaya Slizhba Novostey reports.

According to him, the mechanism for provision of the residual value guarantees will help decrease risks for the lessors.

Andrachnikov declined to name the amount of financial support before the program is finalized. According to him, the company plans to have a 20-25% share at the global market in Sukhoi  SuperJet 100 class over the next 10 years.

SCAC may establish a working group for promotion of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 in India

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) is negotiating with India on opportunities for industrial cooperation, including customization of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft by Indian enterprises, Prime reports with reference to SCAC Senior Vice-president, Evgeni Andrachnikov.

Andrachnikov is responsible for sales in the SCAC. He said that cooperation might be established in the network of “Made in India” state program; Tata and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited may become partners of SCAC.

“Together with the Indian government we are going to establish a working group, which will define possible areas of cooperation between SCAC and Indian partners, which will help us enter the Indian market,” Andrachnikov said.

Prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, announced the start of “Made in India” state program in September 2014. The program is aimed at increasing the share of the national industry in the country’s GDP from 15 to 25% using the state support.

Russia to receive new S-400 air defense missile system in summer 2015

Novosibirsk air defense division of Russian armed force to receive the new S-400 air defense missile system in summer 2015.

New S-400 Triumf air defense systems will be supplied to 12 missile regiments of Russia’s Aerospace Defence Forces by 2020, their spokesperson, Colonel Alexei Zolotukhin said on Monday.

Until the end of this year, four S-400 regiments will be protecting Moscow and the Central Industrial District of Russia, he said.

At present, three regiments have S-400 systems and the rest are armed with S-300 systems.

Future plans call for upgrading Moscow’s missile defense to bring air defense and missile defense systems under a single command to repel all possible attacks.

LADA Sport drivers speak on a new WTCC calendar for 2015

The new and exciting FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) calendar for 2015 will include a number of new circuits, offering a thrilling challenge for the drivers. LADA Sport trio – Rob Huff, James Thompson and Mikhail Kozlovskiy – will enter the Championship with a new LADA Vesta model under the brand of LADA SPORT ROSNEFT. The drivers commented on the significant changes in WTCC calendar.

Rob Huff: “I am quite happy with the calendar changes. One of the most expected races, for sure, will be the Nürburgring round – not only for me, but for the most of drivers”.

James Thompson: “I’m very much looking forward to the challenge of the new Vila Real circuit! From what I understand it will be very well supported and there has always been a lot of passion and a good atmosphere in Portugal so it will be a pleasure”.

Mikhail Kozlovskiy: “I am positive about next year’s calendar changes. In 2014, the technical regulations were significantly changed, and a year after they are implemented, we can expect even bigger surge of interest to the Championship and an increase of participants and TV-audience as well. With the new circuits we will also receive a wider geography”.

Russian Emergency Situations Ministry received 22 special KAMAZs. These are high-tech machines. They are designed by leading experts of the Russian car industry, taking into account the special requirements of departments and are designed to transport emergency supplies.

Being produced by the official dealer of KAMAZ – “RIAT” – KAMAZ-43118-RF and KAMAZ-65117-RF were sent to the logistics base of the  Russian Emergency Situations Ministry situated  near Moscow Noginsk.

Buses are equipped with Cummins engine of ISLe 340/375 series, as well as a set of special on-board navigation and communication equipment KURS. For a convenient and comfortable work of the crew some improvements  were made and additional options –  set.

Russian armed forces receive new APC for airborne troops

Russia’s airborne forces, whose numbers will be doubled by 2020, are set to take possession of two new vehicles: the BMD-4M airborne combat vehicle and the BTR-MD Rakushka (“shell”) universal armored personnel carrier.

The vehicles will be ready to enter service with the armed forces by next spring, when dozens of them will drive through Red Square for the Victory Day parade on May 9, 2015. In the next 10 years the army will buy 1,500 units of the former and 2,500 units of the latter.

The assignment to develop a new line of technology for Russia’s air force was given in 1992, but the project only commenced in September 2009, when a new technological assignment required the modernization of airborne combat vehicles and their use as models for the construction of the new Rakushka armored personnel carrier.
