Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu visited on Monday closed administrative-territorial unit Vilyuchinsk in Kamchatka where he examined the facilities designed for deployment and maintenance of nuclear submarines, and the progress of the pier zone construction, RIA Novosti reports.

Head of the 4th main department of Spetsstroy of Russia Mikhail Tashlyk reported to Shoigu that “the objects will be ready no later than in the 4th quarter this year.”

The Minister pointed to “the need for strict observance of the schedule of pier zone”, given that the first submarines of Project 955 “Alexander Nevsky” and ” Vladimir Monomakh” will appear in the Pacific Fleet in 2014 and 2015.
