Visitors of the airshow will have a chance to see one of the PD-14 test engines. Thrust reverser and engine nacelle developed by the Perm-based design bureau will be demonstrated for the first time ever. Distinctive feature of the engine nacelle’s design is wide use of composites and technologies connected with the materials, Aviadvigatel’s press-service reports.
PD-14 is indigenous fifth-generation engine for the new Russian short- and medium-haul MS-21 aircraft. PD-14 engine was developed in the network of the Federal Target Program «Development of civil aircraft in Russia for 2002-2010 period and until 2015». Main contractor is United Engine Corporation, primary product developer – Aviadvigatel (Perm), leading manufacturer – Perm Engine Company.
