Russia modernizes the export of ammunition for the legendary “Shilka”

NGO “Pribor” is working on upgrades for foreign customers ammunition used in dozens of Soviet anti-aircraft gun ZU-23 and self-propelled ZSU-23-4 “Shilka”, the general designer of “Pribor” Oleg Chizhevsky told reporters Thursday.

The Russian defense ministry said that the historic equipment and weapons would include the following items: one 122mm field howitzer dated back to 1910, one double-barreled ZPU-2 14.5mm antiaircraft gun dated 1949, and one 37mm 61-K automatic anti-aircraft gun dated 1939. “In total, during dynamic and static shows, almost 30 items of combat equipment and weaponry will be used,” the ministry said.
