Russia not interrupt contacts with France on military-technical cooperation despite failed Mistral deal

Russia is not breaking off contacts with France in military and technical cooperation despite the canceled deal for the delivery of Mistral helicopter carriers to the Russian Navy, state-run hi-tech corporation Rostec Deputy CEO for foreign economic activity Dmitry Shugayev said on Thursday.

“We’re open for cooperation but understand that many of our partners stay within the framework of their legislative initiatives but we’re not losing contacts and are not shutting doors and generally do not consider it correct to sever any contacts,” Shugayev said.

However, there can be no talk about the active phase of military and technical cooperation with France, the Rostec official said.
