Russia’s defense industry to be able to produce 100 engines for Mi-8 a year


Since 2016 annually the Russian defense industry will be able to collect 100 helicopter engines VK-2500 using domestic components, which came earlier from Ukraine, CEO of United Engine Corporation Vladislav Masalov told RIA Novosti on Monday.

These engines are installed on the Mi-8 / Mi-17; after breaking the military-technical cooperation between Russia and Ukraine, the supply of these units in Russia was ceased.

“Production capacity of the plant (“Klimov”) allow to produce engines VK-2500 using Russian components in the amount of 100 pieces a year, starting from 2016.
