India Approves Purchase of 197 Russian Kamov Helicopters


The Indian Defense Ministry approved on Wednesday the purchase of around 200 Russian Kamov light utility helicopters, The Times of India reported.
The contract is worth around $467 million, the newspaper said.

The project, alongside other major long-pending contracts, has been cleared by the defense acquisitions council chaired by Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar.

The helicopters will reportedly be assembled in India.
