Algeria interested in buying light attack aircraft based on the Yak-130


Algeria has become one of the first Russian operator of the newest training aircraft Yak-130. Corporation “Irkut” back in 2011 gave the first 16 aircraft worth $ 200 million to the armed forces of Algeria, reports
Algerian military leadership of the country based on the experience gained by the military in Syria and Libya, where he actively used combat training aircraft L-39, became interested in the shock of the new training version of the Yak-130.

It is assumed that the Yak-130 will receive a number of upgrades to be able to perform tasks in the air and on the ground. In particular the integration of radar SCP-01 Scipio is assumed. This radar is a development of company Mectron in partnership with the Italian Selex-Galileo, it is operating in “air-to-air” and “air-land”, including offshore operations.
