Defense Ministry: Iskander-M missiles moved from Orenburg to Sverdlovsk region

Iskander-M tactical missile systems have been moved from their base near Orenburg to the Sverdlovsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

“The missile systems will participate in the Urals parade dedicated to the 70th anniversary of victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War [of 1941-1945] for the first time ever,” says a report by the Central Military District press service seen by Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

Iskander-M “boasts high firepower, mobility and maneuverability and can destroy targets at a range of several hundred kilometers with high precision, by firing at two targets at a one-minute interval,” the report said.
