Testing of PD-14 engine for MS-21 aircraft will be started in the coming months

Testing of PD-14 engine designed for the latest Russian MS-21 airliner will be started in the first half of 2015, Lenta.ru reports with reference to CEO of United Engine Corporation (UEC), Vladislav Masalov.

«At present we are testing PD-14 prototypes and the engine’s components. In the first half of 2015 it will start flying on Il-76LL flying testbed and the tests on high-altitude test bench of the CIAM (Central Institute Of Aviation Motors) will be started,» Masalov said.

He also noted that during the testing of the engine prototypes all the claimed parameters of the engine have been confirmed so the engine is ready for special tests. A total of 14 test engines will be manufactured in the network of certification and special testing.
