Russia will retrofit an aircraft repair plant located in Chandigarh (India) in order to provide after-sales support services for Russian-produced helicopters delivered to the region. It was stated by the head of Russian delegation at Aero India 2015, Deputy Director General of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Anatoly Punchuk, TASS reports.

“At present in the network of an offset agreement (part of a contract for delivery of Mi-17V5 helicopters) a state-of-the-art MRO center is being established in Chandigarh; it will provide MRO services for Russian-produced helicopters, – Punchuk said. – In particular, the Chandigarh-based repair plant will be fitted with a repair line intended for VK-2500 engines and 16 repair lines for repairing instruments, equipment and helicopter rotors”.
